On this page we have assembled a list of the most symptoms reported. Please note that this is just a list with possible explanations. This disease has not yet been classified and most people are diagnosed with delusional parasitosis! Because there is no definitive knowledge yet we have added very daring presumptions to each symptom for you to think about it. If you have other ideas please do not hesitate to tell us!
FIBERSThe fibers are the most significant symptom reported - this is why Morgellons is also called "fiber disease". These fibers have a self-luminosity (under UV light) and have only been reported in the colors black, red, blue, green and transparent.
What is it?
There are conflicting reports. Some report that an analysis revealed that the fibers are made of cellulose. Others report that the material the fibers are made of could not be identified. Daring Presumption Might be the result of a metabolic process (garbage) or might have other functions.
CAPSULES/GRANULESThese capsules are described as looking like grains of sand are reported quite often.
What is it?
This is not yet known. As these capsules are reported quite often they seem to be a generic symptom. Daring Presumption Maybe this is a kind of egg which later develops into a "starfish" which produces the fibers?
FUZZBALLSFuzzballs seem to be comprised of fibers woven around each other and have a size of about 1-3 millimeters. In the most cases fibers of more than one color are involved.
What is it?
This is not yet known. As these fuzzballs are reported quite often they seem to be a generic symptom. Daring Presumption Might consist of "dead fibers" no longer of use.
"STARFISH"This so-called "starfish"-like thing looks like an organism with long tentacles. The tentacles are reported as both thin and thick.
What is it?
This is not yet known. As these things are reported quite often they seem to be a generic symptom. Daring Presumption Maybe this is the organism responsible for creating the fibers.
WORMSSome people report things like worms under their skin. If this is a generic symptom of this disease or maybe another parasite is not yet known.
What is it?
This is not yet known. Daring Presumption Might have nothing to do with this disease or might instead be the fully developed organism with the capsule/granule as the first step, the "starfish" the next step and the worm the last step.
BLACK SPECKSMany people report black specks on or in their lesions.
What is it?
This is not yet known. Daring Presumption This might be dead fibers or a dead organism. |
